|Ocean fun times October |
I must sayÖ it has been a rather odd October. Firstly the weather cannot decide if it wants to stay in storm season or dry season, secondly the currents are flowing like rivers one second and then still as a pond the next.. Odd as October has been, itís been an amazing month of diving in this beautiful Haa Alifu Atoll.
We started the month with some lovely families from Switzerland. Father and son Philipp and Nando got to improve their diving skills while diving with our most professional instructors. Andrea and Robi overcame their fear of diving and got to experience some of the best untouched reefs in the Maldives. Stefan and Silvia, experienced divers were amazed by our service and also brought their son along for some snorkeling under the sun. Markus and Bettina, the luckiest divers of the month were actually the first divers to see the Mantas arriving ahead of Manta season to get a head start on winter cleaning. We also welcomed the sweetest man on earth, Walter from France, who just shinned with excitement every time we dove with him. And lastly, the happiest couple ever to set foot on this island, Else Beth and Sven from Denmark. They were so happy with every dive site we took them too and also the whole Meridis Team that they decided to come back for Christmas! No wonder Danish people are listed as the happiest nation in the world.
All of us were also kept busy as we had a lot of courses going on this month. Chen Jia and Chang Qing from Zhe Jiang, China made the spontaneous decision to do their Advanced Open water with Instructor Iru, where we were lucky enough to see a swimming nurse shark during their night dive! Linda, also from the Swiss Land completed her Advanced Open Water with Instructor Hiro, she was a top notch student and will become a great diver one day! Carsten, a congress man from Germany thought he would try something different and completed his Scuba Diver course with Instructor Sandy. Instructor Roman got to experience teaching Junior Open Water with little George from London. And lastly, Hamda and Laila from Dubai managed to complete their Advanced Open Water course on their short three day stay here with Instructor Iru, experiencing some very up close and personal dives with our resident sting rays in the house reef on a night dive.
To top of an amazing month, we also welcomed to the team Denise from Singapore.
